Algae into Biofuel: A study of interaction between two species
Division:Earth & Environmental Sciences
Category:Junior
Region:
City:,
School:
Abstract:The purpose was to determine if there are interactions between the two algae strains; Scenedesmus Obliquus (SO) and Chlorella Vulgaris (CV) that when cultivated together under photobioreactor conditions, that would affect generation times. When the cultures were mixed, the SO’s generation time increased, while the CV’s generation times decreased. The results presented important considerations for efficient algae biofuel production.
