Biography
I am Albert Coombes. I presently attend St.Lawrence Academy and am in grade 11. I am a member of Cadets, the robotics club and karate, all of which I find very interesting. Other than that I enjoy playing guitar and bass as well as listening to music, playing hockey and hanging out with friends. In the future I was considering possibly doing Mechanical Engineering or Bio-medical Engineering, however, I am not completely sure which or whether I would do them. This was my 3rd year at the regional science fair but will be my first time at the nationals. Some notable awards include 3 gold medals ,2 first places and one second in my division in past regionals, also highest marks in Canadian economy and Robotics courses. I was also the first one in my school to do an accelerated math program. Other than that I am very proud of my black belt in karate.

Abstract:For this project I designed a system which allows an underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle to automatically compensate for tilt. It does this using an accelerometer whose input is processed by a program which alters vertical motor speeds accordingly.
