| Sydney - I am 14 years old and live in Sundridge, Ontario with my mom, dad, brother Josh and sister Maddi. Currently, I am in the ninth grade at Almaguin Highlands Secondary School. My favourite subjects are Science, Gym and English. I belong to the Student Council, Athletic Council, the Envirothon, the Green Team and I write for the local newspaper on behalf of my school. I play high school basketball, volleyball, soccer and am a member of the track team. When I'm not at school I spend my leisure time playing Rep Hockey and OBA Basketball in the winter and Rep Soccer in the summer. I also enjoy reading mysteries, scrapbooking, babysitting and swimming. One day I would like to play on the Canadian Women's Hockey Team in the Olympics. I would also like to further my studies in Science and become an Epidemiologist. Last year I was valedictorian for my grade 8 class and received numerous awards for my academic achievements. On my hockey team I am known as the REAL "Syd the Kidd". | | Hannah - I am 14 years old and I'm a grade nine student at Almaguin Highlands Secondary School. At school I am on the Student Advisory Council and a member of the Environmental group. I also played on the junior girls basketball team and midget girls volleyball team. I love playing hockey and play on a rep. girls team. I also play on a rep soccer team and a OBA girls basketball team. My family and I have travelled to a few places such as going to the Olympics in 1996, the Pan Am games in 1999 and Disney World in 2000. In 2002 my family flew to England and Scotland for 3 weeks and back packed around there. I have a 18 year old sister and a cat named Butterscotch. |

All of the residents’ drinking water is pumped from underground wells. We felt the toxins from the landfill would impact the quality of their water. Contaminate levels were measured and found to have varied effects on water quality. |
