Biographie
The most important thing about me is that I absolutely adore horses. I ride every day, and compete in eventing and show jumping. I also enjoy skiing, and this year I discovered ultimate Frisbee. I like spending time with my friends. My favourite subjects are science and math. The best thing about science is doing some experiments. It's also neat to think of a hypothesis and then see if you were right. Because I spend a lot of time outdoors, keeping the environment healthy is important to me. The Southlands, where I ride my horses, is a little bit of the country in the big city of Vancouver; it is a very special environment and should be preserved for other children to enjoy.

Sommaire:This project examines the impact of a large number of horses on local ditch water in small urban areas, such as the Southlands, Vancouver, BC. Analyses showed that areas of higher horse concentrations, especially those with uncovered manure, have higher ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and phosphate. Phosphate levels were high before reaching the horse area, maybe because of golf courses’ fertilizer.
