| My name is Tegan Wiebe and I am currently in the tenth grade. I attended the Canada Wide Science Fair in grade eight with a project on tire traction. I am very involved in my school and in my community. I participated actively on basketball, volleyball, tennis, and track and field teams at my school. I received Most Valuable Player Awards in basketball and volleyball and I competed at Northern Ontario Secondary School Athletics for the 80m hurdle sprint. These awards got me to Athlete of the Year last year. This year I participated in the Reach for the Top competition and our school was the regional champion. As well as doing sporting events, I enjoy reading, running, and playing the piano. I also love drama and have always enjoyed public speaking. Last year I was the zone and regional champion. Travelling is also something I love to do. I have been to most of the United States, Canada, and Norway. |

Fencing, reflectors, whistles, roadside vegetation clearing, deer population reduction, deer warning signs, and other advanced technologies were all researched for their effectiveness. Biologists and other researchers were contacted and web sites and books were employed. Fencing was found to be the most effective method but also the most costly. |
