Biographie
My School is Anna McCrea Public School in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. I started a Natural Environment Education Program in my school with a couple of classmates. I am involved in many activities at my local YMCA that I participate in and volunteer for. I am a red stripe belt in Tae Kwon Do, participate in rhythmic gymnastics, and yoga. I am a volunteer swimming and gymnastics coach which I love. My favourite things to do in my spare time are to make fishing lures and go hiking in wetlands. I love amphibians and want to be a herptologist or Ornatholigist as a career. I got the inspiration for my project from hearing a discussion on the problem. One way to further develop my invesigation would be to ask researchers to use my solution on a larger scale. Some advice I would give to other students wanting to do a science fair project is to find out from your teacher early in the school year when science fair is if you wish to use plants, so you are not rushed when it comes time to do your project. I live on a farm, and have many birds, including peacocks!

Sommaire:Project experimentation modifying an existing technique for creating plaster casts of wildlife tracks in snow medium. I pre applied household hydrophobic liquid materials and assorted house hold powders to canine tracks in the snow, then poured plaster of paris into the tracks. The casts were scored for their level of detail and ease of identification. This technique would be useful in wildlife management.
