Science has been my passion for a long time and it is something I enjoy from the time I was small. I have always been interested in how thing work and I have always found the answer through science. I want to go into engineering or doctor. I was awarded the gold medal at the Ottawa Regional Science Fair in the past and selected to represent at the Canadian Wide Science Fair in the past. I won the gold medal in CWSF in Biotech junior division. I have won the UWO entrance scholarship. At the regional level I won several grand awards, including Pfizer Canada Award of Excellence and many special awards including University of Ontario Institute of Technology Award, Weizmann Institute of Science, ASM International awards. For extra curricular activities I have made my school basketball, soccer, badminton, and volleyball team. I play badminton and volley ball on a competitive level. I am also part of my service activates in which I make sandwiches to distribute to the needy and help the homeless. Overall, I strive to be a well-rounded individual and continue to involve myself in many opportunities.

Abstract:Finding a suitable Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) would benefit over 75 000 Canadians who undergo ACL replacement every year.Pig ligaments transplantations does not have these disadvantages. At the Orthopaedic Biomedical Laboratory at CHEO I tested the harvested pig ligaments at various conditions. I compared the performances of the pig ligaments with synthetic materials. I found pig ligaments are better than synthetic ligaments in performances.
