Biography
My name is Clarissa Fortin. I am a Gr.8 student at St. Josephs school in Port Elgin. My project,is called Drop Dead Gorgeous. Science is one of my favorite subjects but I enjoy English the most. I love reading and enjoy writing poetry, and stories. I have been keeping journals since I was young and I plan to become an author or journalist. I also take voice lessons and have competed in music festivals and won scholarships there. I will soon take my Gr. 5 vocal exam . I also have preformed in many musical plays at local theatres. I compete and once made it to the provincal level of leigon public speaking. Music, acting and writing are my passions.

Abstract:This investigation examined hazardous heavy metal elements present in cosmetics. X-ray fluorescence and home testing kits were used to analyse a total of fifty-six lipstick samples. Results showed that barium was a very common element in lipstick. Antimony a banned substance was detected in some lipsticks. Levels of mercury exceeding restrictions were also detected. This demonstrates that lipstick use could be hazardous to human health.
