Biography
When I was nine I came to Canada from China, and started a new life in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Winnipeg is a place of great importance to me, where I learned to speak English and soon was very fluent. I received the Principal Award at the end of my elementary school year. I began my junior high life in an enrichment class. I won a debate award on my first debate contest; and placed 26th in Canada in the Canadian National Math Contest in the same year. The best experience of all was being able to join the Science Fair 2010. My partner and I received “first” in our school, and were selected to be in the Regional Science Fair, where we both received a bronze medal and a 100-dollar Special Award for each. Both in school and after school, I developed a great love for music, especially violin and tenor-saxophone. I also helped a charity CHKV, to raise money for building schools in Vietnam. After moving to Toronto, I’m still an active student who joined the swim team and represents my class in the Student Council.

Abstract:The purpose of this project is to find the different factors that affect the amount of sound received, these three factors investigated were material, temperature and distance. The results compared the amplitudes of sound waves under these factors, and they showed that high-density materials, colder temperatures, and greater distances are the generally the most sound-proofing.
