Biography
My name is Julia Dobrovolskis, I am in grade 9 and I go to Hillfield-Strathallan College, in Hamilton Ontario. I am in some school activities such as the photography club, the school news paper, media club and girls rugby. In my free time I enjoy singing and horseback ridding and helping out at one of my local farmers markets. In this previous summer I was given the opportunity to explore new cultures and travel around the south of France, it gave me a greater knowledge about people and the world and experience with travelling. The inspiration for my project came from my previous investigation of lead in tea. In the future, I would like to explore other contaminated food products. My advice to you is that no matter what your project is, if you have no passion towards it, you will never be successful with sharing your knowledge and getting people to care about it.

Qualitative/Quantitative Analysis Of Heavy Metal Contamination
Challenge:Environment
Category:Intermediate
Region:Bay Area
City:Ancaster, ON
School:Hillfield Strathallan College
Abstract:Abstract Each year the average Canadian consumes 1kg of honey and often this honey comes to Canada from foreign sources. This honey may be contaminated with heavy metals and have arrived through illegal trading. Sample honeys were subjected to chemical assays and found to contain heavy metals that impact health of consumers. This information suggests that honey from banned sources is being imported into Canada.
