Division: | Engineering & Computing Sciences / None | Category: | Senior | Region: | Rideau-St. Lawrence | City: | Brockville, ON | School: | Brockville Collegiate Institute | Abstract: | This project studied the effectiveness of boric acid on Tenebrio beetles, which were a subsititute for the Western Pine beetles. These beetles were a major issue affecting trees in Western B.C. Different concentrations of the acid, the life stages of the beetle, and three temperatures were tested. Higher concentrations of the acid at high temperatures took less time to completely eradicate the adult beetles. |
