| David Wang Making a Magic Herb Against SARS
Division: | Biotechnology | Category: | Intermediate | Region: | London District | City: | London, ON | School: | A.B. LUCAS SECONDARY SCHOOL | Abstract: | SARS-coronavirus establishes its infection via mucosal routes. To develop an oral vaccine, we generated transgenic plants expressing an antigenic region of a viral protein fused with a mucosal carrier protein. The fusion protein showed binding capacity to mucosal receptors. Thus, this novel approach has great potential for effectively preventing SARS. |
