Making a Magic Herb Against SARS
Division:Biotechnology
Category:Intermediate

Abstract:SARS-coronavirus establishes its infection via mucosal routes. To develop an oral vaccine, we generated transgenic plants expressing an antigenic region of a viral protein fused with a mucosal carrier protein. The fusion protein showed binding capacity to mucosal receptors. Thus, this novel approach has great potential for effectively preventing SARS.
