Biography
Science is one of my many interests. I wanted to further extend my knowledge in science by developing a science project. It was very exciting to win the gold medals, the most outstanding project award, and the best overall group project in Manitoba. Getting to go to the Canada-Wide-Science Fair was an amazing opportunity. I know that there are many other opportunities that can further allow me to develop more knowledge in science. I hope to one day choose a career in medical research; it is a field that constantly changes the world. I enjoy music and I express it in many forms. I like to sing; I sing in my church choir. I have had lead roles in many school musicals and concerts. I play three instruments—including the piano, flute, and guitar. In the past I have won a silver medal for Manitoba in an RCM piano examination. I also played the flute in the Manitoba Junior Honour Band. I belong to a Ukrainian dancing group: We have competed in many festivals in which we have won many gold medals. I belong to a Ukrainian youth organization called Plast. At a Plast leadership camp I obtained an outstanding mark.

Abstract:Certain forms of pills have been marketed to provide fast pain relief, and we wanted to ensure that what they were marketing was correct. As consumers take these medications daily to kill their pain, we wanted to know which over-the-counter pain reliever dissolves fastest in the stomach; and which form of a pill—caplet or gel capsule—dissolve fastest in the stomach.
