Biography
My name is Jacob Coy. I’ve lived in Sydenham, Ontario. I’m a very active person who enjoys participating in extra-curricular activities. I particularly enjoy music. I’m part of the Gr.8, senior band in which I play the tenor saxophone. Also, I participate in an after school program called “School of Rock”. For this program, some friends and I get together and play rock music, I usually sing. As well as this, I play piano, my favorite instrument. I’ve played piano for nine years and I’m in seventh level conservatory. My favorite sport is basketball; I’ve played on both the junior and senior teams at my school. I also play hockey. I’m part of the challenge program at Loughborough P.S. and have been for two years. Just recently, I won the award for outstanding achievement in my school for achievement in all fields of work. I have enjoyed participating in school and regional science fairs since grade five. I have won two gold medals as a junior and intermediate and several environmental awards. This year, at the regionals, I tied for the silver in best of show. I enjoy traveling with my family, and have visited many places throughout North America.

Abstract:This project was on increasing wind speed by funneling the air to improve electrical output of a turbine style windmill. Using a windmill and funnel constructed from scratch, I found that a funnel will marginally increase wind speed and in turn, allow the windmill to generate more power.
