Biography
My name is Pium and although I have been in high school for two years, I am still getting used to the dynamic experience. I am a band geek (i play clarinet) and beyond school I play piano. My hobbies include reading (especially fiction and fantasy genres), cooking, doodling, badminton, surfing the internet and pestering my younger siblings. I am a bell ringer for Salvation Army fundraising events.

Abstract:My project tested the resilience of plants in the mustard family against Bertha armyworm moth larvae. I tested survival and growth rate of larvae and damage caused by them on 6 plant varieties. I found that smoother leaves supported the insects whereas leaves with hairs (trichomes) and higher traces of glucosinolates made them less likely to suffer infestation. Insects showed no preference for leaf colors.
