Abstract:The Biological functions of folic acid (FA) have been reported earlier. Previously, we reported that 200mg/ml of FA increases blood cell size leading to abnormal cell division and death suggesting early cellular aging. Cells treated with FA after exposure to anti-neoplastic agent were rapidly driven to senescence. Treating cancer cells with FA decreased their senescence. This suggests that overdose of FA affects cell aging selectively.
