Biography
I have been doing Science Fair projects for 5 years now, and for the past few years I have done projects related to environmental sciences. I got the idea for this project when I became aware of an argument revolving around the question, “What started global warming?”. I had my own opinion, of course, but I wanted to support this opinion with facts. Thus, my current “Balloon Warming” project was conceived. I think that if I choose to continue competing in science fairs, I would like to try an engineering-based project or continue to do environmental projects. My advice for future science fair participants would be to do as many trials as possible, and make sure that your statistical analyses are correct. Performing the correct analyses makes all the difference.

Abstract:I compared contribution of two gases to the greenhouse effect. My hypothesis was that CO2 changes the heating pattern of air more than water vapour. By comparing the rates of heating up and cooling down of balloons, I showed that water vapour influenced the patterns of temperature change more than CO2. I concluded that either my hypothesis was incorrect or my experimental design was faulty.
