Abstract:This project studied the effect of Vitamin D on bacterial growth. Soil solution samples containing different amounts of Vitamin D were plated in home-made nutrient agar. Bacterial growth was recorded after a 48 hour incubation period in a converted oven. All samples containing Vitamin D had less bacterial growth than samples without Vitamin D. Also, as the amount of Vitamin D increased, bacterial growth decreased.
