| My name is Adrain Howie, I'm 14 years old and I live in Halifax Nova Scotia. I'm in grade 8 at St Agnes Junior High. I have lived in Halifax most of my life except for grades 5 and 6 where I lived in Ottawa. My favourite sport is tennis, I play it all year round. I did the regional science fair for two years now, but this is the first time going to nationals. I am an alter server at St Agnes church, and have just received my Chief Scout award. |

I tested the rate of browning over several hours using a series of photographs and comparing treatments such as lemon juice and various cutting methods. I also compared Courtland and Red Delicious apples. I tested the rate of decay over several weeks, using histology to examine the apples at the start and end. |
