Biography
My name is Bernadette Weaver and I am 13 years old. I live in South River, Ontario, a small town of 1,100 people. It is located three hours north of Toronto and it is a water access point for Algonquin Park. I am a grade eight honor student at Land of Lakes Senior Public School in Burk's Falls, where I am the Deputy Prime Minister on the Student Council. My favourite subjects include math, science, and art. I enjoy all sports including basketball, baseball, volleyball, and soccer, although my favourite sports are swimming and the 200m dash in track. I enjoy writing, especially fiction stories and have won several writing awards. My other interests include reading, playing with my black lab, Delilah, playing the piano, traveling, and taking art lessons. In the summer I like to spend time at my family's cottage just relaxing, or camping in Northern Ontario. I also love to take riding lessons. This is my first trip to the CWSF and I am honored to be attending. I have never been to Manitoba so I am very excited about the trip. It will be a great experience!

Abstract:This project is an experiment to discover the true effectiveness of antibacterial soap versus biodegradable soap and what occurs after using them. First results caused several new questions and more research and experimentation took place including growing cultures and making permanent slides. The final results, surprisingly, indicate that using antibacterial soap with triclosan as the antibacterial agent may not be the wisest choice.
