Division: | Engineering & Computing Sciences | Category: | Senior | Region: | Greater Vancouver | City: | Richmond, BC | School: | York House School | Abstract: | This is a software program that can determine the orbit of any observable asteroid in the solar system, using the Laplacian Method. Only 3 observations are needed prior to writing the program in IDL syntax. The results generated by OD are called orbital elements, which depict the size, shape and orientation of the orbit in detail. |
