Anthony - From a very young age, Anthony has always been driven to discover and invent: he first told his mother something she didn't know already at three years old. This drive to explore has led him into the sciences. For the past three years, Anthony has led his school's team in the CRC Robotics Competition. This year, the team placed third overall out of 28 high schools and colleges in the Montreal area Anthony has just been to the Weizmann institute in Israel to participate in the Shalheveth Freier physics tournament, where his team competed to open 'safes' using the principles of physics. Out of 42 international teams, our team was one of the few teams whose safe did not get cracked. Anthony is currently studying at St. George's School of Montreal, and is going to attend the Pre-University programme at Lower Canada College next year. He dreams of studying electrical engineering and computer science at MIT. | Emily - Emilie Amar-Zifkin has always been passionate about the sciences. She enjoys all types of science, from pharmacology to engineering. Despite this, she also has many other interests. For the past three years, Emilie has participated in the CRC Robotics Competitions. This year, the school team placed second in the final round. In the summer of 2006, Emilie worked as a summer research intern at the McGill Cancer Research centre. Emilie has also participated in many school plays and musicals, both as a lead performer and as a member of the technical team. She currently holds a CEGEP equivalency degree in musical theory from Vincent d'Indy and has been playing piano for nine years and French horn for four. Aside from this, Emilie also enjoys writing, and was recently published in the Poetry Institute of Canada's annual poetry anthology. She will be attending Dawson College in the First Choice health science programme next year, and hopes to attend medical school at McGill University to complete her MD and her specialist's degree in psychiatry. Participating in the Science Fair has been a great experience for Emilie, and she is excited to be representing her province in the NWSF this year. |

The use of antennas has therefore become increasingly important. In this project, several different antennas were constructed, and their properties were studied. As well, various real-world tests were devised to investigate the differences between the antennas. |
