Biography
Alex Ianta is a 12 year old boy that goes to West Pictou Consolidated School (WPC). He lives in Salt Springs, Nova Scotia. He has a sister, two wonderful parents, a dog named Challa and two rabbits. But it was not always like this, when he was 1 year old he lived in Romania, he and his parents then moved to Austria where he lived for 5 years, after which he moved again to Canada (Calgary, Alberta), where he lived for another 5 years. Finally he moved to Nova Scotia in December 2007. That is where he got his dog and rabbits. He participates in 4-h and take Piano lessons. He enjoys making websites and working with computers for many different proposes. He has his own website where be publishes stories, photos, and more, you can visit it at http://www.byalex.info. In February when he found out that he was going to regional’s, with his science fair, he was very excited, “I was determined to go further.” He said. On April 1, 2009 he found out that he won first place in the regional Science Fair.

Abstract:In this project I wanted find out if Semantic Web technologies can be used to solve logic puzzles. Using three test problems of growing difficulty and I found that one step logical problems, can be easily solved with semantic technologies, with an appropriate concept mapping. In the case of a multiple step solution, currently, additional programming is needed to automatically generate all available options.
