| From 2005 until 2009 Victoria Goernert was a member of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet (RWB) Professional Division School. She has received a variety of awards for music and ballet. Currently, she is preparing for the Royal Conservatory of Music grade 10 level practical piano exam, and is a ballet instructor with the Brandon School of Dance. As a grade 12 student at Vincent Massey High School, Victoria is preparing to pursue a degree in civil engineering. This summer Victoria completes her second year internship with The Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation Department. |

Younger participants completed a reaction time task much faster than older participants. However, when distracted, the advantage for younger participants was much smaller. These results demonstrate that distraction significantly slows down reaction time among younger participants considerably more than among middle-aged and older participants. |
