Biography
Hello, my name is Sarah Sheppard. I was born in Vancouver almost 14 years ago and have been raised in the city my whole life. I was born into a family of (self named) Enviro-fanatics. Although my parents, are both lawyers they have convinced me from a young age that is not what I am meant to be. I am a competitive, but still fun, team member. I do several sports including soccer, ultimate, and competitive swimming. I play the cello, and am an aspiring guitar player. In my academic spare time, I enjoy writing, anything and everything. Also, I've been known to pick up a book on more than one occasion. My favorite genre to read and write about is historical fiction or horror. Movies don't do much for me, other than the occasional John Hughes or classic horror flick. But yes, I am also a music diehard(also an acquired trait). Anything pre-1984 is my style, in my books the greatest guitar solo of all time is in Stairway to Heaven. But that's about it, to sun it all up in one word it would have to be slightly-irrational!

Abstract:As rammed earth building is a relatively newer building idea that is just coming to the world stage, my science fair project is an experiment on the strength of rammed earth walls. Overall I found the best building method is using a mix of all the materials (dirt, rock, and sand). The best mix I used was a ratio of 12:1:1.
