| I am the youngest of four boys in my family. I attend King's Edgehill School as a day student in grade seven. I have made it to Science Fair Regionals twice, coming home with gold medals. Being chosen for the Canada Wide Science Fair is quite an honour. Competitive mountain biking is my passion and to help get fit I train using a road bike. I'm nervous of traffic on the roads and my mom also shares my fear. While cycling I often tried to think of ways to make cycling on roads safer. My plan was to be able to see and have a distance reading of approaching traffic from behind while remaining forward facing. Ultimately, my goal is to devise a wireless system to provide visual and distance readings and someday have a system I can market to help keep children and adults safer while cycling. The best advice I have to offer is to choose a topic that you have an interest in. Science deals with trials and errors and sometimes even failure. Never give up, as these bumps in the road push you to think of ways to fix arising problems. |

There is also a camera mounted under the seat for live footage to the cyclists smartphone showing what is behind the cyclist. The smartphone is mounted on the handle bars. |
