Willow Water as a Rooting Accelerator
Division:Physical & Mathematical Sciences / Environmental Innovation
Category:Intermediate
Region:Manitoba First Nations
City:Nelson House, MB
School:Nisichawayasihk Neyo Ohtinwak Collegiate
Abstract:This project investigates the usefulness of willow water as a rooting accelerator. Weak (5 g/L), medium (10 g/L) and strong (15g/L) concentrations of willow water were used to treat spiderwort and spruce cuttings. Both spiderwort and spruce cuttings formed roots more quickly in the strong and medium concentrations. Spiderwort roots were the longest in the weak concentration and in the control.
