Biography
My name is Zahra Merali. I am 14 years old, and am in grade 10 at West Ferris Secondary School, in North Bay, Ontario. In school, my favourite subjects are Biology, English and Drama. I really like Biology because it’s interesting to learn about what really makes us work. I participate in many extra curriculars during school, including sports, student council (I am publicity rep) and drama (I preformed in two plays this year). Out of school, I enjoy doing additional sports like snowboarding. I also enjoy reading and writing in my free time. I participate in numerous volunteer activities, one of the main ones being an apprentice snowboard instructor at the Laurention Ski hill. I also volunteer for various cancer walks and other causes. In the past, I have won awards such as Valedictorian, Highest Academic Achiever and various other science fair related awards. I have always been extremely interested in health sciences, because I find it intriguing to learn how complex our universe really is. In the future, I hope to be a doctor, because I want a career in which I will be helping people, and always be learning new things.
