Biography
Activities that I participate in vary from sports to volunteer work. I play soccer, volleyball, badminton and basketball. I love to run and am on the track and cross-country team. I volunteer by reading with elementary students and helping with their activities and sport leagues. I attend student council and social justice meetings. In my community I attend church and have sung in the junior choir for ten years and assist with Sunday school. I recently volunteered at the Oxfam South Shore for Haiti fundraising event. I enjoy volunteering at local festivals and working with children. Some of my hobbies are gardening, hiking, running, drawing, jewelry making, cross-country skiing, reading, writing, singing, music, acting, and babysitting. I have several career ideas and plan to attend university. A few of my ideas are homeopathy, teaching, acting, and writing. I have received awards in sports, academics and citizenship. I received a peace poster award, and am the 2010 Nova Scotia midget girl’s provincial champion for cross-country skiing. I had the opportunity to hear and meet Craig Kielburger, the founder of Free the Children. I am inspired by his work and hope that I too can make a positive difference in this world.

Abstract:This project is a behavioral science experiment to investigate how people are affected by gratitude. It was thought that if someone was unexpectedly rewarded, they may be kinder due to their gratefulness. Four experiments were conducted to discover if this was true. It was concluded that a certain level of gratitude did lead to acts of kindness.
