Biography
My name is Damien Georges. I am 17 years old and currently in grade 12. I live in Pinehouse Lake, Saskatchewan. I am interested in learning and always find myself trying new things. This was one of the reasons I got involved in the science fair at a young age. I have been participating in the science fair since grade 6, and this will be my second time attending the Canada Wide Science Fair. I got inspiration for my project from my dad, who is heavily active in my life. I am also involved in other extracurricular activities in my school. I am the president of our school’s Student Representative Council, a member of the Eco club, and drama club. My plans to further my investigations involve finding new ways to filter out a wider range of things with a wider range of filteration methods. If I were to give advice to other students who plan on doing a science fair project would be to just do it and never give up because there is so many intelligent people in the world and you never know what you’re capable of doing until you try.

Clean or not Clean: The Ultimate Guide to Water Filtration
Challenge:Environment
Category:Senior
Region:Northern Saskatchewan
City:Pinehouse Lake, SK
School:Minahik Waskahigan School
Abstract:The purpose of my project is to develop a basic understanding in the water treatment field. The hypothesis was that the homemade cloth filter will grow the most bacteria as it just absorbs water and moves it over. The experiment required different water filters with raw water. The conclusion was that the cloth filter did in fact grow the most bacteria.
