| My name is Jennifer Dawn Smith I am sixteen and the president of the Grade 11 class at Spruce View School. I enjoy working with people and have attended the Co-operative Leadership Camp and Senior High Student Union Leadership courses. My projects have been selected to compete at the Central Alberta Regional Science Fair three times with this being my first trip to Nationals. At the Regional level I have won the “Ellis Bird Farm Award”, the senior “Genome Award” two years in a row, a senior Silver Award, a senior Gold Award and the “S.T.A.R. Award” for administering first aid to an injured person at the 2007 Regional Science Fair as I am trained in First Aid/CPR and WHIMIS. Through my involvement with the Loyal Order of Moose Kids Talk Program I have been given the honour of representing Canada twice at the International Moose Lodge Youth Congress, in 2007 at Gettysburg Pennsylvania and in 2008 at Tampa Florida. I serve our country as a Private in the Canadian Forces Reserves with the 749 Communications Squadron as a Supply Technician. It is my hope to attend University in Business and Logistics with a minor in Military History. |

Cloning Violets

Leaves were propagation or used whole for leaf cuttings. Tissue culture averaged 216 plantlets per leaf where as the rooted cuttings averaged 1.7 plantlets per leaf. Tissue culture propagation was found to be the superior method. |
