Biography
Hello, my full name is Heather A'mie Arqviq. I am a grade 12 student at Qiqirtaq Ilihakvik. I play a lot of volleyball; I am in a volleyball team. So I do a lot of fundraising with community activities such as dances, and games. Snowmobiling, sports and hanging out with friends are my hobbies. I am interested in the FNTI aviation program in Mississauga for my post secondary plans. Winning regionals has been fun and I am looking forward to nationals.

How Does the Throat Sing?

Abstract:The project studied how throat singing involves the use of the body to produce its unique sound. I learned both traditional Inuit knowledge and the biology in this study about throat singing. Elders and throat singers demonstrated with their bodies, and I learned how parts of the respiratory system interact to resonate sound.
