Biographie
My name is Devanshi Parekh and I am currently a student in grade 9 at Carlton Comprehensive High School located in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. I enjoy volunteering at the Victoria Hospital two hours a week and playing the piano. My hobbies include music art and traveling. I love to read and my favorite genre is mystery. In sports, I play badminton and have recently joined Karate. I graduated grade 8 with the Science, Health and Academic awards. Last year, I was chosen to participate at the Regional Science Fair where I got the Genome Prairie Award and a chance for my project to be exhibited at the Provincial Winner’s Showcase. It is an honor and an opportunity to be present at the Canada Wide Science Fair this year. As I look forward to a career in Science I am hoping this experience will give me the desired exposure and understanding of the various career options available in this field.

Sommaire:This project studied the vaccine Gardasil given to girls of grade 6 and 7 at six schools in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The participants completed a questionnaire. The results concluded that girls view this vaccine as a health-benefit, and therefore most of them have been vaccinated, experiencing minor side-effects. The main reason for their choice is parental-influence and more education on this vaccine is required.
