Biography |
---|
This is my first science fair ever. I was born and raised in Petawawa Ontario, the location of one of Canadas largest military bases. I'm the second oldest child in a family of six. I have competed in the Ottawa Regional CANSPELL spelling bee for two years in a row and I have represented my school in public speaking competitions. My hobbies are reading and singing. I have taken some vocal training that has been an asset with my involvment in plays such as the "The Little Mermaid", "Beauty and the Beast", "The Wizard of Oz" and "Annie Warbucks." I hope to continue with vocal lessons this fall and I am currently learning to play the piano. When I grow up I would like to become a singer or a teacher. |

Division: | International | Category: | Junior | Region: | Renfrew County | City: | Petawawa, ON | School: | General Lake P.S. | Abstract: | Surface colour or texture can affect heat absorption and reflection. Darker colours tend to absorb heat and while lighter colours tend to reflect it and smooth surfaces can reflect heat as well. This understanding of surface condition can be useful in conserving energy by reflecting heat energy in the summer and absorbing it in the winter and also has an application on global temperatures |
