Abstract:A sophisticated yet low cost electric cane has been designed to help elderly and partly disabled people walk in dark and crowded places and on difficult terrain with reduced level of risk. The cane emits light, sounds an alarm, senses obstacles, attracts neighbors if the user falls down, and costs less than $20.
