Biographie
My name is Kathleen Emily Gair, or Katie. I attend Lillooet Secondary School in British Columbia and I am 14 years old. This is the first year I have been chosen to go to the Canada-Wide Science Fair and gosh it’s exciting! I’m also thrilled to be going with my schoolmate and friend Nikki Sauve, who was also chosen to attend as a member of Team BC. I am not sure what career I would like to pursue, but I have a love of the arts and biology. My hobbies include sketching and painting, playing the acoustic guitar, writing, hiking, and trail running. I am a member of my school’s Glee Club and have preformed in over 15 performances as a vocalist. My family owns a leopard gecko named Summer and a bearded dragon named Gord.

Sommaire:My project is to prevent erosion on steep slopes due to bug kill and fires. I planted 3 kinds of grass seed (2 native, 1 domesticated) on 10 plots on a 64 degree angle slope. Half of the plots were mulched and half were left without mulch. Stakes with a ruler pattern drawn on them were driven into each plot to measure the erosion.
