Biographie
My name is Hongjoo An and I am currently a grade 8 student in the SciTech program. I attend Tomken Road Middle School in Mississauga, Ontario. During my free time, I like to listen to music and read fantasy novels. I also love to participate in sports activity such as snowboarding, swimming, volleyball and much more. I first got my idea while I was reading a science article related to photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is a great and efficient process that creates energy for plant life. I thought about why this is not being used currently to develop a more efficient method so I decided to experiment on my own. I strongly suggest other students to read news articles and go to many different media sites to increase their curiosity about a specific topic to create an original idea. I am very excited to be participating in the Canada-wide science fair and I hope I can leave with a great memory I can carry all my life!

Sommaire:My experiment looks to find a way to increase the efficiency of a solar panel. Because both solar panel and chlorophyll absorb photons from sunlight to convert into energy, liquid chlorophyll was layered onto the solar panel to observe whether if it can support the absorption of photons for solar panels. My results show that layering chlorophyll did increase the efficiency of a solar panel.
