My name is Justin Shudo, a grade 7 student at Devon Gardens elementary school in Delta, British Columbia. Next year I will be attending Burnsview secondary school. I am currently enrolled in the French immersion program at Devon Gardens and have just recently returned from a class trip to Quebec where we stayed for one week learning about the culture. My goal for this year is to achieve straight A’s before I go to high school. I play rep triple A hockey for the North Delta hockey association and enjoy mountain biking and basketball in my spare time. I have previously been in two district science fairs and had completed one project on magnetism and another project on suspension bridges. This year was my first time to attend the regional science fair and I had a great experience. |
| Justin Shudo The Effects of Evaporation
Division: | Physical & Mathematical Sciences | Category: | Junior | Region: | South Fraser | City: | Delta, BC | School: | Devon Gardens Elementary | Abstract: | My hypothesis on the effect of evaporation, which my experiment verifies, is that different liquids will have a significant effect on the surface temperature of a substance. Heat is carried away from a surface as a liquid evaporates on it. Hand sanitizer and water lowered the temperature of my testing surface, and with no liquid, there was no decrease in temperature. |
