| My name is Robert Buchkowski and I am 18 years old. I began my high school studies in 2003 as a member of Peterborough Collegiate and Vocational School’s Intergrated Arts Program. During my high school years I became very involved in the PCVS community. As a member of the arts community, I directed four dramatic productions and performed with the PCVS African Drumming group. My passion for global politics lead me to join the PCVS African Connections group, where I helped organize school events and conferences. In 2006, I travelled to Holland to participate in THIMUN, the largest Model United Nations in the world. Since October of last year, I have been a member of Jamaican Self-Help’s Youth Action Team, which strives to raise awareness about poverty related issues. Finally, my love for science led me take every academic science course PCVS had to offer. Outside of my curricular commitments to science I was also a member of PCVS Envirothon, a competition which focuses on Environmental Sciences and natural resource management. In September, I am beginning an undergraduate degree in Environmental Sciences. |

The Leaching of Bisphenol-A from Polycarbonate Bottles

Temperatures of 4°C, 20°C and 95°C were chosen to examine the relationship. Solid Phase Extraction was used to pre-concentrate the samples before analysis by Liquid Chromatography/ Mass Spectrometry. An increase in the leaching of BPA was observed at high temperatures. The control was found to contain BPA. |
