Biographie
Twelve-year-old Isabelle Hébert is a grade eight honours student at Collège catholique Franco-Ouest. Isabelle has a keen interest in all school subjects, especially math, science and music. In 2014, Isabelle won a first prize at the Ottawa Regional Science Fair for her work on an innovative support mechanism and was presented with the University of Ottawa Physics Department Award. In addition to her academic studies, Isabelle has been studying piano and violin since the age of 4 and 7, respectively; she is currently preparing for her Grade 10 RCM piano and violin exams. Isabelle has been a winner of local competitions, an RCM Gold Medallist, and a Canadian Music Competition national finalist. She has also been awarded various local to national scholarships including the Sziladi Family Scholarship for the most promising violinist. Isabelle has performed in retirement homes and in benefit concerts to raise funds for local charities such as food banks. Her grandfather's death due to cancer gave Isabelle the inspiration and determination in finding a cure against cancer, a goal she will want to pursue by becoming a medical researcher. In her spare time, Isabelle also dances, reads, performs musical theatre and plays soccer.
