My name is Lavinia Tanuyak and I was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 23, 1993. I have been raised in Chesterfield Inlet (Chester as it is known to us) and lived here all my life. I live in Chester with my parents Jodi and Gordon, along with my older brother Wilson, and my younger sister Kimberly. I go to Victor Sammurtok School and I am currently in grade 10. After I graduate high school, I would like to go to Rome and travel around the world. I would like see more of the world and then apply to college or university. I have thought about becoming a lot of different things when I grow up, but I would like to become a Pilot, Teacher, or a Lawyer. I have had two different part time jobs in Chester; a cashier at the local grocery store, and I am currently working as an afterschool caregiver at the Naya Isabelle Home. The Naja Isabelle home is a facility for youth and adults with special needs. When I am not in school or at work, I enjoy spending my time snowmobile riding, playing soccer, and being on my laptop. |
