Abstract:To study wing shape affecting lift, different shaped wings were made from balsa. To compare lift, distance between airflow source and airborne wings were measured. Traditional wings with greater surface area improved lift. The humpback whale pectoral flipper wing was best for lift. Studying nature can provide improved wing aerodynamics.
