Biography
My name is Megan Macdonald, and I am currently a Grade 7 student at Summit Middle School in Coquitlam. I compete in many school activities, such as cross country running, track and field, volleyball, and feild hockey. Outside of school I play soccer, dance, and take guitar, piano, and piano theory lessons. I have a twin brother and a 2 year old black labrador retriever named Ceilidh (this is the scottish spelling, it's really pernounced Kaley). This is my first time competing in a regional/national science fair.

Abstract:My project is experimenting whether or not materials considered natural antibiotics can inhibit the growth of bacteria. I am testing 6 different natural antibiotics, garlic, honey, ginger, lime, oil of oregano, and colloidal silver. For each natural antibiotic I chose I used a 100% concentration and a 50% dilution, against 4 types of bacteria, Staphylococcus Aureus, Staphylococcus Epidermidis, Enterococcus Faecalis, and E Coli.
