Biography
My name is Ashley Paton; I am 14 years old and currently a grade 9 student at Medicine Hat High School in Medicine Hat Alberta. At school, I am a part of the girls’ volleyball and rugby teams and enjoy both very much. My favorite subjects in school would be the scientific and mathematical ones. I have recently started "volunteening" at the region's hospital and have had a lot of fun getting to meet new people, young and old. In my spare time, I love playing the drums and the guitar, which I have been playing since I was eight. I also take pleasure in running, playing soccer, golfing, watching CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and hanging out with my friends. I would love to travel to Europe and live there for a year because of its history and the gorgeous scenery. I plan to attend University to become a mechanical engineer with dreams of one day becoming an Imagineer at the Disney Parks. Last year, in grade 8, I had the privilege of earning the second highest average in my grade. This is the first CWSF I have attended and I hope it is an unforgettable experience.

City:Medicine Hat, AB

Abstract:My project focuses on how much height is needed in order for a marble to complete a loop. I made two different tracks made out of foam pipe insulation (One with a radius of 12.5cm and the other with a radius of 17.5cm). I tested 2 marbles from various heights and concluded that the minimum height is increased with the size of the radius.
