| Wade - My name is Wade Young and I am a student at Chief Sam Cook Mahmuwee Education Centre. I enjoy computers, sports, and games. I spend a lot of time with my science partner Nolan Beardy as we share many of the same interests. I am unsure what the futrure holds for me but I would like the opportunity to attend post secondary education. | | Nolan - My name is Nolan Beardy and this is my first time going to the Nationals. I am 17 and go to school in Split Lake Manitoba. I get good grades and try to always do what my teacher asks of me. I enjoy using computers. My friend Wade Young is my partner in this project. We were able to find out that barn owl pellets are contaminated with a pesticide called DEE which is a byproduct of DDT. This had been unknown previously. I am looking forward to the Nationals and will do my best. |

The lab at Michigan State University assisted with the tests. Both GC runs showed peaks consistent with DDE, the end metabolite of DDT and found in the soil. As far as we know, DDE has not been reported in barn owl pellets, prior to this study. |
