Biographie
I am so excited to participate in the Canada Wide science fair this year, as I have never taken part in any such event. After participating and placing well at Regionals last year, I was expecting anything but my name to be called. I am mostly a city girl, living in the suburbs, but I also love animals of all shapes and sizes. My house is a bit of a zoo, with 2 dogs, 3 cats, and some fish, but my real passion is horses. I ride horses for fun, and occasionally compete. I am also passionate about my education, and am definitely planning on completing high school with honors and going on to be a veterinarian. I volunteer every year at a horse farm just outside Leduc, helping out with kids and horses during summer camps. I love the environment, and the feeling of helping out just because I want to. In school, I enjoy all of my subjects, but find that I mostly excel in science, social studies, and math. Once again, I am so thankful for this amazing opportunity, and am sure everyone will have a blast!

Sommaire:My project took an in-depth look at the living conditions for sows and piglets and I created an innovation to eliminate these inhumane conditions. I took into account the needs of pigs when designing my 3-D model a humane farrowing pen. I concluded by considering the implications of my innovation on pork producers, consumers and public health.
