| Since I was young, I was exposed to Mother Nature, and I always thought that I had to preserve it as much as possible. That’s why I loved doing volunteering activities such as picking up the garbage along the sea shores. Last year, I found out about an environmental leadership program called C-Vert that I took a part in. During my summer internship, I got a chance to see an urban agriculture lab, and it opened my eyes to alternative agricultures. One of the most memorable technology they had was hydroponics system, where they were growing strawberries. I was fascinated about how pretty it looked and I was surprised that plants can grow without soil. That’s why I looked more into it and found out about the topic of my project, which is the fogponics, where you use fog to grow plants. It is known to be one of the most efficient ways of agriculture, and in the future, I would like to make a larger scale of agriculture. My advice is that complexity does not equal quality, and no matter how good your project may be, if you can’t communicate it, it’s nothing. |
