Alison Underwood is 12 years old and a grade 7 student at Turnberry Central Public School. She lives on a farm just outside Wingham, Ontario with her parents and three older brothers. Alison has been a member of many school sports teams including soccer, basketball, and volleyball and also plays hockey on two different teams. She has been very active in “Me to We” and was selected to attend the conference in Toronto last fall. In her spare time she enjoys babysitting, volunteering in her community and spending time with her friends. Watch Your Step, is Alison’s first science fair project and it won ‘Best in Fair’ at the Avon Maitland regional science fair this spring. Alison’s future plans include attending high school and university, where she has aspirations of becoming a pediatrician or dentist. |

Recycled tires and paint were used to produce a product that was environmentally friendly. Eight different combinations plus a control area were subjected to several tests. The product containing 60g of fine rubber produced the best results and was the seniors preferred choice. |
