Breanna - Breanna lives in the small community of Naramata, just north of Penticton, in the heart of the Okanagan British Columbia. Outside of school, Breanna is very involved in dance including ballet, jazz and lyrical. She is a member of her school concert and jazz bands, playing saxophone and trumpet. She also has been studying piano for many years. Breanna participates in school sports such as basketball, volleyball, baseball and soccer. This is Breanna’s second year in the French immersion program in Penticton. Breanna enjoys water skiing with Meg and learning how to wake board. Breanna has been friends with her science fair partner, Meg, since kindergarten. Breanna really enjoys traveling and has had the opportunity to travel as far away as Thailand. She is looking forward to her adventure this summer river rafting through the Grand Canyon. | Meg - Meg lives in the small community of Okanagan Falls, just south of Penticton. She is a very competitive downhill skier, specializing in slalom and Giant slalom. Last year she was on the BC team for ski racing. Being on the BC team has given her many opportunities to travel through out British Columbia and to Norquay in Banff, Alberta. Meg also enjoys all kinds of sports including basket ball, volley ball, track and field, baseball, soccer, and cross country. This is Meg’s second year in the French immersion program in Penticton. Meg plays the Trumpet with her school concert and jazz bands. She enjoys living on Skaha Lake so she can go water skiing, wake surfing and wake boarding. Meg has been friends with her science fair partner, Breanna, since Kindergarten. |

When racing skis were compared to recreational twin tips, the racing skis were found to be faster. Secondly, tucking was compared to standing and tucking was found to be faster. Thirdly, standing with a weighted back pack (26lbs) was compared to just standing. Surprisingly, standing with a back pack was faster. |
